The Ioannideia Race At Limassol Marina

The Ioannideia race

On Sunday, the 21st of September 2014, the Famagusta Nautical Club (NOA) paid tribute to Navy Commander, Commodore Andreas Ioannides, who died during the tragic explosion at Mari. Ship2Shore Clothing had the honour of producing high-quality Polo Shirts, featuring the embroidered Ioannideia emblem and sponsor logos for the events participants and board members.

The Ioannideia race was organised in the memory of Commodore Andreas Ioannides. On the day of his heroic sacrifice, Andreas Ioannides was the Vice-President of the Famagusta Nautical Club. Ioannideia 2014 included off-shore sailing regattas, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, rowing and SUP races. The races started at 9:00 and 11:00 and marked the beginning of the off-shore sailing regatta. The yachts sailed off the coast of Limassol and ended up in front of the Nautical Club. The official ceremony took place at 18:00 and included a blessing, the laying of the wreath, speeches and an award ceremony. Limassol Marina was a partner on this initiative for the second consecutive year. Ship2Shore clothing were proud to be part sponsors of the  2nd  Ioannideia event and supplied the branded Ioannideia Race polo shirts and caps for the first year and hope to continue this partnership for years to come.

The day went off without a hitch and all participants, board members and spectators looked respectable in their branded clothing. In total, Ship2Shore produced over 300 garments and 100 caps for the event, all in quick time. We used our top class embroidery machines and garment vinyl to achieve the high-quality results, shown in these photographs. The top image shows the event director giving the signal for the start of the canoe/kayak race from Limassol Marina with the event and sponsorship logos on the back of his polo shirt.

If you would be interested in using Shi2Shore clothing to produce your own branded garments for any event, big or small, please don’t hesitate to contact us for a quote.
